ETZ 250 clutch

I cannot get the clutch to disengage all maxed out on the adjuster on the handle bar cable.
I have set the cable nipple at engine to 11mm but after going through as said above the 11mm Seems to alter to 15mm or more.
The drive plate is holding the disc firm.
However. I have noticed that the nut/worm drive is not tight.
Now I'm sure it should be and do I just go ahead and tighten at any point, or not?
Also this not being tight, is it causing the problem of clutch not disengaging ?.

Personally I find the release mechanism a pain in the ar*e to fit.

Never found anything online but I do recommend the Haynes Manual - it's actually quite good about fitting the clutch mechanism which is pretty rare for a Haynes manual.

One thing to remember - and this caught me out, you MUST refit the cover with the rev counter drive and screw the screws in fully, if you do not do this you will NEVER get the clutch to lift.

I was scratching my head for ages after putting mine back together as to why I was gettig no clutch lift !!

There are a few sections that you need to look at, and it is a headscratcher to get that clutch pusher to engage properly. It's an interesting design, one which if you look at the engine casing when applying the clutch you will find the clutch cover bow out slightly in operation.



Is the problem that the clutch has no engagement at all? Or just that it is stuck? Like Andy said, you kinda need the tacho drive on, or at least some bolts holding the adjuster plate in place to experiment with the adjustment.
