supa 5 honda front drum conversion

Postby MotoMZ » Sat Jul 15, 2017 11:36 am

Hello
I have been given a front wheel from a 70's Honda that I want to put on the MZ

Can anyone who has done the mod or knows what spacer I need?

Thanks

John

think the conversion has been posted some where
and also several write ups on getting the original to work better

top right of screen do a search for drum

it will show some recent posts in the listing on bottom left click on jump to post for reading them

I got the honda drum off eBay, so no option but to get it laced into a separate eBay rim (19" MZ rear) by central wheel componenents. Got a local retired engineer (tracked down thru nearest model engineering society) to make me up a P shaped clamp to lock the back plate to the fork & a couple of spacers to centralise wheel between TS chrome sliders. I've not got any measurements written down, but I can measure & pm with pics if you want. Works v well. Cheers, Matt

Hi Matt,
Sorry I am so late in this post, but I have only just seen this above. I too have a 77 TS 250/1 and the rims are 18in front 16in rear, so I am interested to know why you are going for a 19in front with a 16in rear? Incidently this is not a criticism it's a genuine ask.
Take care Alan.
