ETZ250/251

Hi all, I'm currently trying to restore / reassemble a ETZ250 and the seat I have seems too long. I can easily make a bracket up so it fits ok but wondered does anyone know if the 251 seat is a couple of inches longer than the 250, that would explain the difference?
Cheers, Nick

On the contrary: the ETZ 250 seat is longer than the ETZ 251 seat.
Just post a photo and I can tell you what seat you have...

Nick.

Dont want to appear to be teaching you to suck eggs, but is the seat locating onto the frame correctly?

On my 251 the seat is a bit awkward to locate onto the hooks at the front of the seat, and you could easily think that the seat is too long when it does not locate properly.

Just my two penneth.

Thanks for the replies and help guys.
I bought the bike (in boxes and large lumps) from the family of a guy who started the rebuild in his 70's but died before it was finished. His grandson couldn't find the log book or registration plate so I'm not even sure if it's a 250 or 251. The speedo is in mph so I'm pretty sure it's a UK bike.
I've attached a couple of pics if they are of any use.
I checked the locating pegs are in correctly so it's not that.
Any tips on differences between 250 and 251 would also be great thanks.
Cheers, Nick

It´s an ETZ 250 seat. But as long as I don´t see the frame, I cannot see if you have an ETZ 250 or ETZ 251.
The ETZ 251 frame is shorter than the ETZ 250 frame. So maybe you have an ETZ 251.
Can you post a picture of the tail end of the frame ? Then I can tell...

Thanks Guesi, here are a couple of pics. I bought the rear light unit separately so it may not match correctly, though the mounting bracket was already attached to the mudguard.

As I thought:
The frame is an ETZ 251.

So you need a seat for ETZ 251, not ETZ 250....

Thanks for the pic blurredman, I've sent you a pm.

Guesi, thanks once more for the info. At least I now know I've a 251.
I know the frame and engine numbers. Can you tell anything from them, such as year made?

Hello

If you send me the frame number with PM, I can try to find out what year of production.
