Gear selector

Postby MJ310 » Sat Nov 15, 2014 11:43 am

Having just given my bike a service it seems to run stronger and smoother at low revs but I have noticed it's very difficult to block change down, I have to change down one gear at a time and release the clutch between gears or it wont shift, had to pull away in second a couple of times. Checking the lever it seems fine and returns to a central position easily. Has anyone any idea what it might be? I have blead the clutch and will do it again tomorrow just in case I have a bit of air in the system.

Today I stripped, cleaned, greased and refitted the gear lever and rose joints. I also reblead the clutch, (no air) so I will test it out when I have time.

Took the bike out for a spin yesterday and the gear lever is fine, I still think the spring is a bit weak but it changes gear properly now, did'nt think it was that gummed up but it does'nt take much.
